Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in Training

EPIC LLC actively pursues anti-oppressive practices. This requires an engaged process of counteracting bias at the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral levels. Prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination (whether conscious or unconscious, intentional or unintentional, ambiguous or ambivalent) degrade the very fabric of our society. EPIC LLC acknowledges our educational, occupational, and governing structures are predicated on methods and policies to build power for some groups at the expense of other groups.

To find healing ground and to create more equity and inclusivity, we must move beyond a mere sensitivity or awareness of cultural differences. Instead, we must move toward cultural humility using other-oriented processes. Through empathy and intentional spaces, we will become further attuned to embracing the dialectical tension of knowledge of different cultural groups and acknowledging we cannot know all the different aspects of how cultural identities intersect.

To this end, EPIC LLC strives to weave diversity, equity, and inclusion into the fabric of all training and consultation activities.

This is an ongoing journey, so watch for more information and resources coming soon.
