Fair Access & Opportunity
EPIC LLC actively pursues fairness and inclusivity. This requires an engaged process of counteracting what proven science calls bias, which exists at the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral levels. Prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination (whether conscious or unconscious, intentional or unintentional, ambiguous or ambivalent) impact the very fabric of our society. EPIC LLC acknowledges there is unfairness in certain systems, methods, and policies resulting in power for some groups at the expense of others.
To find healing ground, to pursue justice, and to create more belongingness, we must move beyond a mere sensitivity or awareness of individual differences. Instead, we must move toward cultural humility and attunement. Using intentional spaces fostered by empathy and curiosity, together we will embrace the "dialectical tension" of both knowing and not knowing how our lives intersect.
To this end, EPIC LLC is committed to ensuring fair treatment, access, and opportunity for everyone. The aim is to create a training and consultation environment where people from all backgrounds feel welcome and belong. These efforts are seen as a process, not a destination or end point.
